Financial Assistance 2018

We're delighted to announce 2018's Festival financial assistance programme, a new initiative which we hope will lower some barriers to participation. We have several areas in which we offer support, and we invite applications from any New Zealand based improvisors who would otherwise not be able to attend. We especially encourage applications from improvisors often underrepresented at NZIF, including Māori and Pasifika, LGBTQI*, and people with disabilities.

Spotlight On: Takayuki 'Taka' Ueda

Takayuki Ueda is an improvisor based in Osaka, Japan and the director of Impact 360 Improv. He has improvised for 16 years, and in the last four has travelled internationally to perform improvisation in six countries. Taka taught and performed at New Zealand Improv Festival 2015 with his creative partner Ronald Pabst (Cologne) and is delighted to be returning to direct Shibuya Scramble Crossing.
